Viral Kindness is born
Wow! What a 48 hours!
I was laid in bed on Sunday night watching the news preparing for a surgical procedure on my spine the following morning, I know I needed to sleep and prepare for a big day (and early start!) but I watched the news just thinking 'I have to do something to help'.
And that was it.... Tingley & Ardsley - Viral Kindness was born. A group set up on Facebook.
I arrived at Nuffield Hospital in Leeds at 7am and whilst sat in reception saw that YappApp had run a story on my new group, the likes and messages soon started. By 9am I had a request to include neighbouring community Thorpe to the party, of course I obliged.
The likes (and messages) continued - strangers messaging me offering their time to help people in the area, people offering to do shopping for the elderly or vulnerable.
This made me realise this was going to grow and had potential to really make a difference to people in our local community!
My procedure took place mid-morning and to be honest, the rest of the day is a bit of a blur (them anaesthetists are generous!)
